Core Systems Update 2009
It’s time for a core systems update. We’ve made significant progress over the past six months or so. (Compare with the 2008 and 2007 updates.)
The most significant recent milestones are:
- Replaced LDAP with direct access to the Bridges directory for demographics in FIND.
- Maturation of COMTrac integration with FIND and ModCore.
- Course and faculty evaluations moved from EvalSuite to ModCore.
- Launch of Canvass survey tool, replacing EvalSuite.
- Conversion to Wordpress Sites for most new web site development.
We will continue to tune all of these over the summer. The table below shows more detail on the current state of our core systems projects.
Looking forward to the second half of 2009 we plan to:
- Release new versions of IDCore and FIND.
- Move from LDAP to Shibboleth for authentication.
- Add enhancements to Canvass.
- Continue work on ModCore and evaluations.
- Begin work on the communications core starting with email reconciliation.
